Hard and tough as diamonds
Polycrystalline Diamond (PCD) Tools are known for their fracture toughness and thermal stability. The tips or edges of machining and cutting tools are bonded with synthetic diamond micrograins to create tools with cutting tips harder and tougher than natural diamonds. Ideal for applications where there are high volume processes, tight tolerances and highly abrasive processes. Machining speeds of 9000 surface feet per minute can be reached in some high abrasion processes. The diamond cutting and grinding edges give them much longer tool life than standard brazed tools.
